(CBN4, DOMINICA) – The Proprietor of the new Jungle Bay Resort Sam Raphael has predicted that phase one of the project should be completed by 2018.

Construction of the resort is already off the ground. Works on the project commenced at the beginning of 2017 and is moving along smoothly, according to Raphael.

Minister for Tourism Robert Tonge showed how the project is progressing during his visit with Parliamentary Representative for the Soufriere Constituency Denise Charles via facebook live.

The New Jungle Bay Resort is being funded by the Citizenship by Investment Program with its new location at Soufriere.

Raphael informed that the project has afforded a number of individuals from within the Soufriere constituency employment opportunities and indicated that more employment opportunities will be created as the project progresses.

One of the employees, Simpson Fontaine, on the site of Jungle Bay Resort, expressed satisfaction with being employed on the project.

Meantime, Parliamentary Representative for the Soufriere Constituency Denise Charles encouraged the employees to continue working hard and speak positively about the project as it will be beneficial to their constituency.

Jungle Bay Hotel and Spa, located in Point Mulatre near Delices, suffered severe damage from massive mudslides during the passage of Tropical Storm Erika on Thursday 27 August 2015.
